Within the first few months of living here, we experienced around 4-5 different ceiling water leaks. Our carbon monoxide detector was expired since before we moved in and it took them around 2-3 months (of us constantly messaging them) to get them to replace it. Half of the laundry machines are broken, the other half leave your clothes wet. Main maintenance people have walked in on others without announcing. I’ve heard them reach for their keys as they try to open our door, even though I always specify in my maintenance requests to not enter if I’m not there. Like are there worse places to live in? Yeah, technically. But this place still sucks.

You can tell the building is aging, and maintence of each individual unit varies. Things like chipped paint, large screw holes, and exposed outlets were overlooked. Common areas seem to be cleaned at least weekly. Also laundry is SUPER inconsistent so be prepared for that. There are 3 washers and dryers but they often are out of order, or eat your quarters. Maintenance requests for stuff like this doesn’t get completed, and I’ve had the property management retaliate. Otherwise, it’s overall a safe, quiet place to live. It’s just not managed with respect. Far enough away from busy main roads but still walking distance to the T.

Updating my review after a year here, and I want to be fair about both sides. The good is real: the apartment itself is comfortable, the location is great, and it's a place I've genuinely been happy to call home. Some longstanding problems did eventually get resolved, so it's not all bad. The trouble is getting there. Requests sit open in the portal for months with no update or confirmation, and my oldest is still open from March. A loose entry-door handle with an exposed screw cut my hand twice, and weeks after I reported it in writing it still wasn't fixed. The laundry room floods and sits in disrepair, and staff has entered my unit several times without notice. What tipped this from frustrating to serious: after I pressed for repairs and raised concerns with a state agency, they withdrew a renewal I had already signed. If you rent here, the place itself is good, but responsiveness is the real gamble. Put everything in writing and keep your own copies.
