Within the first few months of living here, we experienced around 4-5 different ceiling water leaks. Our carbon monoxide detector was expired since before we moved in and it took them around 2-3 months (of us constantly messaging them) to get them to replace it. Half of the laundry machines are broken, the other half leave your clothes wet. Main maintenance people have walked in on others without announcing. I’ve heard them reach for their keys as they try to open our door, even though I always specify in my maintenance requests to not enter if I’m not there. Like are there worse places to live in? Yeah, technically. But this place still sucks.

You can tell the building is aging, and maintence of each individual unit varies. Things like chipped paint, large screw holes, and exposed outlets were overlooked. Common areas seem to be cleaned at least weekly. Also laundry is inconsistent so be prepared for that. There are 3 washers and dryers but they often are out of order, or eat your quarters. Otherwise, it’s a safe, quiet place to live. Far enough away from busy main roads but still walking distance to the T.

I genuinely like my unit, but you can tell the building is aging and hasn't been maintained as well as it should be. They don't paint between tenants, which I've never encountered anywhere else. There was visible wall damage when I moved in, and I ended up spending my own time and money repainting. I also found doors that wouldn't stay closed, drawer handles falling off, and electrical plate covers that needed replacing. None of it was major on its own, but together it paints a picture of a management team that isn't doing the bare minimum between tenants. The laundry situation is the real issue. They'll tell you it's on-site and not busy, which is technically true. What they won't tell you is that the washers frequently don't work and will eat your quarters with nothing to show for it. They also don't give notice before entering your unit, which is worth knowing going in. The people who work in the building are genuinely nice and helpful, but you can tell they're stretched thin.
